GHL for NHPS medium

Gigi Horr Liverant has taught painting in pastels, oils and acrylics for over 25 years. Her instruction emphasizes individual development, an understanding of color dynamics and an awareness of composition. She is available to teach individuals, classes, workshops or provide demonstrations for individuals or art organizations. Group or individual artist critiques are also available on request.

Pastel Society of America Master Pastelist, and International Association of Pastel Societies Master Circle member, Gigi Liverant, will guide you through a variety of easy exercises to help you discover the most authentic version of your inspiration. Pastels are a medium that begs to be “played with” and Gigi will show you how to implement color dynamics to gain greater impact with the medium. Students will have the opportunity to explore the use of quick studies to focus your artwork toward a more compelling visual expression.

The two-day workshop is geared towards the individual artist’s goals and abilities. The first day will include a demonstration and discussions about the pastel medium, followed by examples of the quick studies employed by Gigi in her own work. You will then have the opportunity to explore color dynamics through studies of imagery of your choosing. The second day will provide ample time and guidance to implement your studies to develop your unique painting.
